The humiliation of the Germans 16 years ago

In 2000, Huang Jiping, general manager of Zhenhai reducer factory, saw a special friction plate of reducer in an exhibition in Leipzig, Germany. Five years ago, he saw this kind of special material in the research of fashion in a professional journal.

"I asked the Germans what material it was made of and how it was made. Instead of telling me, the Germans said contemptuously, "you can't do it." Recalling the situation 16 years ago, Huang Jiping still remembers the humiliation of the other party.

At that moment, Huang Jiping secretly vowed to find and make this kind of friction plate.

But it's not easy? In the following years, Huang Jiping contacted Harbin Institute of technology, Zhengzhou Institute of machinery, China Heavy Machinery Research Institute, Shanghai Institute of materials, and consulted scholars and experts in the cooperation activities between Ningbo Institute of materials and Harbin Institute of technology. Unfortunately, there is almost no domestic research on this kind of friction plate.

Special materials fill the gap in China

It was not until Huang Jiping met Zhou Chongguang, a professor of Ningbo Branch of Chinese Academy of ordnance sciences that he saw the dawn of realizing his dream.

Zhou Chongguang has also been paying attention to this special material, he and Huang Jiping hit it off. "Without ready-made research data, we tried to make this material ourselves." Zhou Chongguang, who retired from the Academy of Military Sciences, has stayed in Zhenhai since then, becoming a front-line operator from a professor.

After repeated failures and research, they invested hundreds of thousands of yuan. In 2015, Huang Jiping and Zhou Chongguang made a major breakthrough in their research - a special friction plate called "resin muscle carbon friction material" was developed.

It is understood that the special material is made of thermosetting resin, coke powder, silicon carbide, rare earth oxide, hydroxide, graphite powder and other materials through the steps of organic solution soaking, drying, crushing, heating and pressure calcination.

"Bakelite materials contain asbestos, which will cause pollution in the production process, and the cost is expensive." Huang Jiping said that the new material has obvious advantages in terms of performance, wear resistance and environmental protection. "Friction and wear performance is stable, and the friction coefficient is stable under simultaneous interpreting of different transmission power and speed conditions."

At present, most of the domestic research on non asbestos friction materials is still at the level of semi-metallic and less metallic formulations. The invention of Huang Jiping and Zhou Chongguang, involving rare earth formula, powder metallurgy and even ceramic formula, belongs to the international leading level.

Huang Jiping is confident in the market prospect of patent products: "our annual output value can reach 15million yuan."

As the owner of the patent and Professor zhouchongguang is also very proud of the product. He points to the torque, speed and power data displayed in the measuring instrument, and says, "the application of special friction materials makes the product have a large friction coefficient and durability, and the output characteristics are basically constant power, and the medium and high speed aging rate is over 85%."

In addition to the emergence of patent products, the 16 years of research and grinding have made enterprises have the technical strength to take the cutting-edge and differentiated route. In fact, Zhenhai reducer factory has undertaken the repair and remanufacturing of imported machinery and equipment of enterprises such as lejinyongxing, Zhongjin petrochemical, Da'an chemical industry and Fude energy.
